The Institute on Sports Wagering and Gaming, focused on the evolving sports betting industry, was launched by San Diego State University on Tuesday. As an integral part of SDSU’s L. Robert Payne School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, this institute aims to become a leader in applied research, policy analysis, and collaboration within the sports and gaming sectors.

According to a release, the institute will provide insights that guide industry best practices and responsible gaming strategies. ‘Our goal is to inform public policy and create new educational opportunities,’ stated Dr. Brandon Mastromartino, SDSU Assistant Professor and Founding Director of the institute.

The Institute will target three core areas:
