Pennsylvania gaming revenue reported a substantial increase of 15.4% year-over-year, totaling $544.7 million in June, thanks to significant contributions from igaming and sports betting.
Pennsylvania Gaming Revenue Surge
This notable growth in Pennsylvania’s gaming revenue is primarily due to substantial increases in igaming and sports betting. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course topped the charts, generating $96.3 million, a 30% rise from the previous year’s $74.1 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort followed, reporting $93.8 million, marking a dramatic 46.3% increase compared to last June’s $63.9 million. Rivers Casino Philadelphia observed a 12.3% growth, registering $53.4 million against $47.6 million last June. Meanwhile, Parx Casino saw a slight increase of 4.4%, with revenues reaching $52.5 million compared to $50.3 million last year.
Impact on Slot and Igaming Revenue
Despite the overall positive trend, June’s slot revenue experienced a minor decrease of 0.8%, totaling $199.2 million. Parx Casino led in slot revenue, gathering $30.9 million, though this was a decrease of 0.7% from the previous year’s $31.6 million. Wind Creek Bethlehem noted a 4.8% dip in slot revenue, collecting $22.4 million, whereas Rivers Casino Pittsburgh also saw a 4.8% downturn, generating $20.5 million.
On the other hand, igaming revenue witnessed a robust increase to $212.5 million. Hollywood Casino at Penn National showcased impressive growth, producing $81 million, a 35.4% increase from the year before. Valley Forge Casino Resort reported $59.3 million in igaming revenue, a stunning 56.5% rise, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia generated $35.1 million, reflecting a 14.8% increase.
Pennsylvania Sports Betting Performance
Sports wagering across Pennsylvania marked significant advancement, generating $51.2 million from a handle of $483.6 million, escalating by 71.4% from last year. Valley Forge Casino Resort saw a sports betting revenue of $23.1 million from a handle of $164 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowlands produced $14.2 million from $132 million, while Hollywood Casino Morgantown amassed $3.1 million from a $46.3 million handle.
