Virginia casinos experienced a 31.9% revenue boost in June, with adjusted gaming revenue reaching $78.5 million compared to the same month last year.
Virginia Casinos See 31.9% Revenue Boost
All three commercial casinos in the state posted significant year-on-year revenue increases. Hard Rock Bristol and Caesars Virginia were major contributors to this growth, as reported by the
Virginia Lottery.
Hard Rock Bristol achieved $21.4 million in revenue, marking a 49.4% increase from the $14.4 million recorded last year. Caesars Virginia led the state with a 59.1% rise in revenue to $30.6 million, up from $19.2 million.
Rivers Casino Portsmouth saw a modest increase of 2%, with revenue growing from $25.9 million to $26.5 million.
Economic Impact of Virginia’s Casino Revenue Boom
This substantial jump in revenue is promising for Virginia’s government, as the three casinos contributed $14.1 million in state taxes. The funds support programs like the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund, the Family and Children’s Trust Fund, and the Regional Improvement Commission.
This revenue report follows a development in the state’s casino sector. The upcoming Live! Casino & Hotel Virginia recently appointed three leaders, indicating positive shifts in the industry.
