Louisiana Casino Revenue Soars to $208.9 Million

In June, Louisiana casino revenue reached $208.9 million, marking a 5.8% increase from the previous year. The various districts in Louisiana, including Lake Charles, Shreveport/Bossier City, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge, showed varied performance in their numbers. The Lake Charles district, though a top contributor, saw a decline, while other areas experienced substantial growth.

Louisiana casino revenue at Lake Charles

The Lake Charles district generated $73.3 million in June. This figure represented a 4.9% decrease from June last year. Within this district, L’Auberge Casino Resort reported $26.9 million, a 0.6% increase. On the other hand, Golden Nugget Lake Charles saw a decline, pulling in $24.3 million, a 14.4% decrease. Delta Downs reported revenue of $14.1 million, slightly down by 1% year-over-year.

Shreveport/Bossier City, however, delivered impressive results. The area’s properties generated $54.3 million, a remarkable 20.8% increase. Margaritaville Resort Casino led the operators with $14.6 million, albeit a decrease of 11.1%. The newly opened Live! Casino Hotel Louisiana contributed $11.5 million, while Horseshoe Bossier City’s revenue surged by 61.5% to $10.7 million.

Steady growth in other Louisiana casino revenue districts

The New Orleans district reported $49.9 million, up 10.4% from last June’s figures. Caesars New Orleans saw a significant increase of 34.1%, with revenue reaching $20.4 million. Treasure Chest earned $13.6 million, growing by 2.5%, whereas Boomtown Casino & Hotel fell by 3.5%, generating $9.7 million.

Baton Rouge also exhibited growth, with a 5.9% uplift in gaming revenue to $25.4 million. L’Auberge Casino Hotel collected $15.3 million, a decline of 2.1%. However, the Queen of Baton Rouge saw an impressive 18.8% revenue increase, reaching $9.3 million. Meanwhile, the Belle of Baton Rouge recorded a 43.3% rise, albeit with overall revenue at $0.9 million.

Evangeline Downs Racetrack in Opelousas reported revenue of $6 million, reflecting a minor dip of 4.8% from $6.3 million the previous year.
