Sands Cares Donation Boosts Expansion
The donation, under the Sands Cares program, will also cover administrative costs at the LGBTQ+ Center, ensuring continuous expansion. John Waldron, the CEO of the Center, emphasized how crucial Sands’ support has become by providing both operational resources and increased visibility. He stated, “The marketing capability we’ve built through Sands Cares Accelerator has substantially increased our stature.” The Center has been a pivotal part of Las Vegas for three decades, offering numerous services to the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.
Resources from the Sands Cares Accelerator will facilitate further communication improvements, such as developing an annual Impact Report and new video content. Furthermore, prior funding enabled the launch of the Gavin J. Goorjian Community Health Center, doubling visitors soon after its opening. This center plays a central role in delivering primary and gynecological care.

The Sands Cares Accelerator, inspired by the late Sheldon G. Adelson, has been empowering nonprofits since 2017. It utilizes Sands’ expertise to broaden these organizations’ community impacts.
