The Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix, a key event for online casino enthusiasts, has secured a contract extension through 2027. Initially added to the Formula 1 schedule in 2023 on a three-year contract, Las Vegas’ race has now gained additional commitment from its casino partners and a decade-long approval from Clark County. Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix: Key Developments
Although the 2026 calendar included Las Vegas before this announcement, the extension was officially revealed at the Canadian Grand Prix. Emily Prazer, President of the Las Vegas Grand Prix and F1’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed long-term plans for the event. American Gaming Association reports that Formula 1 races contribute significantly to local economies and the Vegas event is no exception.
“We’re committed to evolving our strategies for a longer-term arrangement,” Prazer stated. The event faced hurdles, including high ticket and hotel prices and disruptions caused by a loose water valve cover, which damaged Carlos Sainz Jr.’s car during initial practice.
Successful Outcomes and Adjustments
Despite early challenges, the Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix became one of the most successful races of the season, leading to reduced ticket and hotel prices for 2024. Adjustments also include moving the race’s start time from 10 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Scheduled the week before Thanksgiving, the Grand Prix has transformed a typically slow business period into one of Las Vegas’ most lucrative times. Last year’s November event achieved record commercial success for the city.
This year’s reports show that the 2024 Grand Prix generated $934 million in revenue and contributed $45 million in taxes, showcasing the race’s economic significance.
