Community Support Through Mission Grants
The Dubuque and Jackson County Habitat for Humanity and the Butler Children’s Garden Foundation received these grants to drive regional growth, retention, and tourism. Both projects reflect the DRA’s mission to build a stronger community.
Online Gambling Boosts Community Projects
Mandy Miller, Manager of Strategic Philanthropy at DRA, stated, “Our aim is to support initiatives that resonate with our values and benefit the future of Dubuque.” The grants should foster lasting community changes.
The Habitat for Humanity will use the funds for the Wood Street Project in Dubuque’s Mount Pleasant neighborhood. This project will create up to fourteen affordable homes for low-income families, directly tackling workforce housing needs.
The Butler Children’s Garden Foundation will use the grant to enhance its garden and forest area. The funds support maintenance equipment, a website upgrade, and a new internship program.
These Mission Grants offer amounts between $50,000 and $100,000 and go to projects with sustainable, measurable impact.
