Online Casino Revenue Growth Boosts Pennsylvania Gaming Revenue

Pennsylvania’s gaming industry saw significant gains with $601.8 million reported for May, a 15.5% increase from the previous year. The robust growth was largely driven by a surge in igaming revenue and remarkable performances from Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course and Valley Forge Casino Resort.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course boasted $107.7 million in revenue, marking a 31.9% increase from $81.6 million the prior year. Valley Forge Casino Resort similarly saw a rise, reporting $105.8 million, a 32.9% boost from May 2024’s $79.5 million.

Slot Revenue and Major Contributors

Revenue from slots totaled $224.8 million, a 5% increase year-over-year. Parx Casino, a leader in this segment, accrued $34.5 million, up 5.7% from last year. Wind Creek Bethlehem reported $25.5 million, showing a 6.1% gain. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh also saw growth, with a $23.5 million revenue, a modest 0.7% increase.

Pennsylvania’s igaming revenue reached an impressive $232.8 million, a 33.7% increase. Hollywood Casino at Penn National experienced a remarkable 38.4% jump to $90.1 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort recorded a 44.4% rise to $64.1 million, while Rivers Casino Philadelphia reported an 18% increase, generating $36.9 million.

Sports Wagering Adds to Total Gaming Revenue

The state’s sports wagering segment also contributed significantly, with $59.4 million generated from a $655.3 million handle. Valley Forge Casino Resort led with $28.4 million from a $252.8 million handle. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows added $15.7 million in revenue with a handle of $168.9 million, and Hollywood Casino York earned $2.8 million from a $42.2 million handle.
