Pennsylvania Gaming Revenue Surpasses $600 Million in May

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced a new record for gaming revenue, with Pennsylvania gaming revenue surpassing $600 million in May. Commonwealth operators reported $601.8 million, a 15.5% increase from last year. Read more on Pennsylvania gaming growth.

Pennsylvania Gaming Revenue Breakdown

Increased igaming revenue and two key operators fueled the impressive figures. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course generated $107.7 million, marking a 31.9% increase from May 2024’s $81.6 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort earned $105.8 million, up 32.9% from $79.5 million in May 2024. Parx Casino in Philadelphia garnered $59.1 million, a 4.4% year-over-year increase, while Rivers Casino Philadelphia saw $58.3 million, reflecting a 14.5% rise.

Slot revenue also climbed to $224.8 million, a 5% increase over the previous year. Parx Casino led with $34.5 million compared to last year’s $32.6 million, a 5.7% improvement. Wind Creek Bethlehem reached $25.5 million, a 6.1% gain, while Rivers Casino Pittsburgh posted $23.5 million, a modest 0.7% increase.

Igaming and Sports Betting Contribute to Record

Pennsylvania’s igaming revenue hit $232.8 million, growing 33.7% year-over-year. Hollywood Casino at Penn National contributed $90.1 million, up 38.4%. Valley Forge Casino Resort’s igaming revenue rose 44.4% to $64.1 million. Rivers Casino Philadelphia added $36.9 million, achieving an 18% increase.

Sports wagering generated $59.4 million from a $655.3 million handle. Valley Forge Casino Resort dominated with $28.4 million from a $252.8 million handle. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows posted $15.7 million from a handle of $168.9 million, while Hollywood Casino York secured $2.8 million with a $42.2 million handle.
